Project role: grant writer

The proposal written for CRI – a nonprofit recycling industry authority – resulted in funding for a study on the cost of contamination in the recycling of used aluminum beverage containers. CRI will share the findings with industry stakeholders to inform decisions on optimal long-term recycling systems.

Project role: copywriter and exhibit sales manager

These flagship EPRI conferences provide a forum for collaboration among industry leaders on actionable pathways for efficient electrification solutions to meet deep decarbonization targets. The highly rated in-person 2022 event drew more than 1,500 attendees and 115 exhibitors.

Power Bulletin features case studies and other stories highlighting SCE programs that help companies save energy, lower costs and reduce their carbon footprint. This communications vehicle plays a key role in expanding customer use of SCE’s energy management solutions.

Mindy F. Berman

Mindy Berman, owner of Mindy F. Berman Communications, takes pride in career-long recognition of her excellence and professionalism.     

Prior to establishing her firm in 1997, Mindy spent more than a decade in a variety of business and government communications positions, including as a public affairs coordinator at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power – the nation’s largest municipal utility. During her LADWP tenure, she served as a key media spokesperson, and for several years managed communications for the organization’s role as a fuel supplier in the electric transportation industry. 

Among her significant career accomplishments, Mindy authored a 180-page coffee table book (published in 2006) titled Celebrate Pasadena’s Vision: 100 Years of Community-Owned Power.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge and an MBA from Pepperdine University, and has taught public relations and writing courses at UCLA Extension, CSUN and Woodbury University. 

Mindy F. Berman Communications is certified as a WBE (Women Business Enterprise) through the Supplier Clearinghouse, California Public Utilities Commission.
